Millions of homeowners enjoy the lush comfort of carpet on their bare feet and its attractive appearance in their home, but do they enjoy the nearly 200,000 bacteria that are inside it?  Believe it or not, your carpet is one of the germiest places in your home.  It contains about 4,000 times as much bacteria as the toilet seat!

Lastly, salmonella is another form of bacteria often found in carpet.  This can come from contaminated food on your hands when your hands touch a carpeted area. It can also be transmitted through feces of people and animals.  It can even be tracked in from outside.

How to take care of those unwanted germs

In order to help prevent these types of germs and bacteria from taking over your carpet, it is highly recommended that you consider getting a deep cleaning twice a year from professional carpet cleaners to clean and sanitize your carpets to help rid your carpet of bacteria and unwanted germs. While routine vacuuming is also important, most vacuums don’t have the suction power to remove all of these germs.  It is certainly helpful and important in the routine maintenance of your carpet, but a professional cleaning will help to rid your home of many of these unwanted germs.  It will not only give you peace of mind about having sanitized carpets, but it will also leave your home feeling healthy, clean, and fresh.
